Ina Garden is an American cookbook author who has been awarded Emmy award. She hosts the most popular Food Network show, Barefoot Contessa. The show began in 2002. The show will run for another 27 years. Ina began her career in creating nuclear energy policies as well as budgets to the White House. Although she initially found it intellectually stimulating she eventually lost interest. So she purchased an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food retailer. It took her 18 years to make the business extremely profitable prior to selling it and picking up the pen to write her first cookbook. Many more cookbooks as well as magazine columns which followed.
