Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on the ABC show Roseanne. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood, as her parents were afraid of the negative consequences stress can have. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. She began acting to meet new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry began her career in New York after graduation, getting small parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California to work as a theater actress. Perry starred with her mother as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry appeared in 9 episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. The character she played was an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The character was chosen via auditions having a strong association with it.
